THE FELLOWSHIP OF WRITERS
CROSSING OVER TO THE TWILIGHT ZONE
Preface
We live our lives based on what we believe about our world, ourselves, our capabilities, and our limits. This is a story about a man with capabilities way beyond his wildest dreams He entered a cold, damp cave in the middle of nowhere wondering beyound the boundries of human conditioning and found himself trapped in the twilight zone. He was in a new frontier of quantum reality it was like experiencing heaven on earth.. The mans name was John Anderson a writer of short stories about the extraordinary.
Story
As it turned out, the weather prognostacators were accurate in their assessments of the coming storm. It appears that they underestimated the severity of events that were about to befall the people of this small upstate New England town. Although snow had been falling in a flurry of precipitation, it was nothing to be concerned about. Because it was day time, it was clear to see that there would be some accumulation, but nothing out of the ordinary.
John Anderson decided, after walking outside and checking the current conditions, to carry out his plan to venture out for a short walk. Bundling up so as not to be caught off guard should the temperature drop as it was known to do in that part o the country, John set out. Feeling unusually energetic, he decided to venture out on this short trek thought this grove of trees and brush. It wasn't that he was an explorer or anything like that, he just enjoyed the possibility of spotting an animal who might be out and about in search of food.
For some reason unknown to John, he took a turn and began to enter this area he had heard about for years, but never had an interest to explore further. What can I loose, thought John. I'm not that far from home. So off went John. Looking upward, John became aware that the snow was falling a little harder than it had been when he began his trek.
Continuing on he came to an entranceway to what appeared to be a tunnel, well appointed with granite-type structure. This looks interesting, thought John as he entered. It was but a short walk through this passageway, and as he exited the other side, he found himself in a place totally unfamiliar to him.
In his excitement, he began to explore the landscape. Not paying close attention to his wanderings, John found himself caught up in an encroaching snow fall much greater than he had anticipated. Okay, that's enough for me for the day, thought John. I'm out of here! Easier said than done, for as John turned around to re enter the cave, it wasn't there. I mean it was there, it was just that it was snowing so hard, John couldn't find it. Not too concerned because he was still warm and it was still early in the day, so he began to search, and as is usually the case when one is disoriented, it becomes more difficult to reorganize your thoughts and a slight fear begins to encroach the cells of the brain. John hadn't reached that panic point yet, because he had that feeling of confidence, so on he went. Not finding any success, and with the snow now in full fall and afternoon fading, John's search routing increased, and the more he tried, the more disoriented he became. I must sit down and think this out...
John's mind was in a state of confussion He thought; "Is this just an illussion or have I opened the door to a parallel world."
John Anderson shook his head and decided not to try to get back through the tunnel So he turned around and walked to the other side. Much to his surprise he walked out of the snowstorm into a bright sunny valley, A valley filled with lush greenery, cascading waterfalls and the most beautiful lake he had ever seen. He couldn't believe his eyes.
He no longer felt disoriented in fact he couldn't remember a time when he felt so good. He felt young and viral and wanted to laugh and sing.
This was nothing like the cold dismal world he had just stepped out of. He thought to himself; "What is this place? It must be heaven."
As he looked out over the lake he could see a young eagle in flight and on the other side of the lake a lion cub and a bear cub were happily playing together. He could feel a nudging at his back and turned around to the surprise of a beautiful fawn.
He wondered if there were any people here, Oh there must be., All around him he could feel the presence of God. I know he said; "This has to be Paradise Valley."
John was growing weary so he strolled down by the lake and sat down under a big oak tree. It was a spot where he could watch the animals graze and play. It was a perfect time to write about his new experiences.

Off in the distance he spotted the most extraordinary sight. Two of the most beautiful creatures he could possible imagine. As impossible as it was the two animals were unicorns. He thought, "How can this be unicorns are only in legendary folklore.", but there they were right before his eyes. Was he dreaming or was this really happening?

With pen in hand he started to write and he wrote for hours, non stop. This would be the most extraordinary story he had ever written. His excitement was soaring and his imagination was in high gear.

He decided to take a break and walk around the lake. He was totally amazed by the friendliness of all the animals. Even the birds, bees and insects seem to get along, this deffinatly was Gods country.

Wading on the beach around the awesome lake he look down in the water at his image. he looked twenty years younger and all the grey in his hair had turned dark brown. It was then he realized that his arthritic condition had disappeared.

time for somebody else to add on
